TRIM instructs the SSD controller to wipe deleted blocks during garbage collection. On modern SSDs with TRIM active, deleted data may be erased within seconds. However, TRIM is not instant on all controllers, and some older SSDs or USB-to-SATA adapters do not pass TRIM commands. If you have accidentally deleted files, power off the system immediately and contact us. The sooner we image the NAND, the higher the recovery chance.

Many modern SSDs use AES-256 hardware-based self-encryption (SED). In these drives, the encryption key is stored on the controller. When the controller fails, we read the raw NAND, which appears encrypted. We work to extract or reconstruct the encryption key from the controller's firmware area. For software-encrypted drives (BitLocker, VeraCrypt), we need the recovery key or password. Without the key, hardware-encrypted SSDs cannot be decrypted.
